Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor (played by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Fans can expect finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
